In order to promote design exchange between Chinese and New Zealand designers and design professionals, with the original intention of "discovering, developing, promoting, and cultivating" high-end design brands and designers in China and New Zealand, focusing on contemporary design concepts, exploring new values in spatial design, promoting fashion design, and leading avant-garde intelligent manufacturing, starting from 2024, the competition will separately add a Chinese competition area to build an exclusive display platform for individuals and institutions who love design, encourage and guide more designers and design professionals to achieve creative transformation of excellent design and creativity, and promote the high-quality development of the design industry.

2024 China Regional Competition Theme:


Proposition category: Culture and Inheritance.
Please take China's intangible cultural heritage and traditional handicrafts as the design foundation, adhere to the principle of reasonable utilization, inheritance and development, use creative design as the starting point, extract intangible cultural heritage elements or production processes for product design, encourage the combination of traditional elements and fashion elements, integrate modern design, cultural and creative concepts, and Eastern aesthetic concepts for life in the design. Creative activities can also be carried out in the direction of "China City" souvenirs, designing and developing cultural and creative products with regional characteristics.
Free type: This item does not set specific themes or requirements for submitting works.

Competition Track:


1. Brands&Communication (Video Communication)
Category of works:
Including poster design, VI design, book design, IP design, photography, font design, interaction design, UI design, interface design, ICON design, short videos, microfilms, oil painting, printmaking, Chinese painting, watercolor painting, powder painting, sketching, sand painting, comprehensive materials, ceramic art, etc.
2. Design Concept
Category of works:
Including environmental design, interior design, landscape design, architectural design, architectural structure design, AI painting, AI creation, etc.
3. Product Design
Category of works:
Including industrial design, product design, product packaging design, cultural and creative design, jewelry design, clothing design, etc.

Requirements for entries



1. Participants need to register an account through the competition system and fill in the registration information according to the requirements. The competition registration should be synchronized with the submission of works, rather than registering first and then submitting works.
2. Teams can be formed across units (schools) to participate, but the maximum number of participants in each group is 4 (filling in more is invalid, only the top 4 participants will be selected), and the maximum number of mentors in each group is 1 (filling in more is invalid).
3. The DPI of the exhibition board for the entries shall not be less than 300, and the size shall be A4/A3. Both RGB and CMYK color modes are available. There is no fixed size requirement for art works, and there is no unified layout for competition exhibition boards. Free design is allowed. Please do not include information about participants and guides on the exhibition board, otherwise it will be considered invalid. Please use Chinese layout on the exhibition board and upload it in JPG or PNG format; Each group of entries can submit up to 8 exhibition board contents.
4. Video works only accept MP4 and AVI formats. Please control the memory of individual video works to within 50MB (larger works can be submitted through email after registration in the competition system, and the folder name for email submission is: registration order number+work name);

Award settings


The proportion of theme awards for proposition and freedom in Chinese competition areas is the same, and the award allocation ratio will be based on the actual situation of the entries in each competition track, not the same proportion.

Explanation of review fee:


To maintain the normal operation of the competition evaluation, participants need to pay a certain registration fee to ensure the independence and fairness of the competition. The competition fees will mainly be used for: printing of works, evaluation labor fees, and other competition operation fees:
China division: does not distinguish between student and professional groups, does not distinguish between individual works and series works, and the review fee is 25NZ $/piece of work (equivalent to RMB 110).
